This was inspired by my daughter’s Arrow of Light ceremony she participated in tonight. It’s a ceremony performed in Scouts BSA to celebrate scouts’ completion of their Weblos rank.

Candle to candle

Flame to flame

Light upon light

Mind upon mind

One touch, a trigger, a spark

Setting ablaze souls

Razing distance and longing.

Heart to heart

Eye to eye

Hand upon hand

Hope upon hope

Shining through knowledge, hard-won

Brightening the day

A lamppost upon our paths
